Blanket Apology

We each have our own perception,

that may, at times, cause misconception--

what’s right for one is not another’s “cup of tea".

What I might find stimulating,

clever, subtle, invigorating--

there are those of you who never would agree.

And you’ll discover I rarely waste

buttery compliments or false praise,

I much prefer ‘old-fashioned’ honesty.

So before I make you all ‘defensive’,

let me go on the offensive--

and offer you this, my blanket apology.
