For the Record...

Remember our meeting, back in the day,
in High School English…poetry?
Christmas that year, your gift to me
… a record album.

I still remember…

not just the gift,
but the giver.

  1. what a gift that would that def kept on giving....the gift of music...and all the worlds that come with it

  2. To go back to that sweet time of youth and innocence...

  3. You've just reminded me - my first boyfriend gave me Beethoven's 5th Symphony on a record, when I was about eighteen! And I still have it, though seldom play it now. :)

  4. Awe. I was given a Stevie Wonder album and I think the song I played over and over was "Sir Duke".

  5. Oh, the memories you bring back ... dancing in the gymnasium before classes began, slumber parties, sock hops. Thank you.

  6. That stirred a memory of a single I was given on my 16th birthday - the only Beatles record I ever owned.

  7. Awww...high school English. That is sweet Ginny.

  8. so sweetly written. and so widely understood

Thank you for reading my poetry and sharing your thoughts.
