Every leaf has lifelines
stretched from tip to stem
that tell the tales of wooded glades
of sunlight filtered through the shade
of long ago beginnings
and as yet, unknown ends.
The secrets of the forest
murmur through the trees
the dryads and the fairies keep
them tucked away in woodland deep
and guard their mysteries .
