"Beauty Fades" Used with Permission.

Summer flowers fade and pass
sensing now their time's grown old;
as once they blossomed, so they wane
while trees turn orange, red and gold.

Oh, that these autumn days would last;
too soon they cycle gray and cold...
as frost etches our window pane
we watch the season's tale unfold.

**Sharing at d'Verse Poetics: Autumn Chill is in the Air

  1. yep they move too fast to the cold and bitter....but in that quick moment carry so much beauty...

    dang if you were not right about the syrup...and maybe this is the first sign of senility thinking it was fall...oy...smiles.

  2. So true, Ginny, that seasons cycle way too fast....and especially autumn that seems to cycle to gray at breakneck speed! I enjoyed this!

  3. Easy flow to this, Ginny. Like you, I find autumn tickles my muse.

  4. A soothing and easy read, really enjoyable Ginny.

  5. beautiful the fading of the flowers that symbolises much much more...and a great capture of the feelings created at this time of year

  6. lovely, Ginny. Took me a while to find it and I was curious what photo you wanted to use...the words and the image fit perfectly together.

Thank you for reading my poetry and sharing your thoughts.
