Raging

Photo courtesy Tess Kincaid, Magpie Tales

Storm rages within…
voracious ebon entity
slowly possessing me

Fighting the
current;
bruised, cut…
swept
away by
another
wave.

How do I exorcise
this witch,
this black bitch
that devours until
nothing is left?

My poem has some devouring in it... but not by a womanly figure...

  7. I second the comments made by others... we need to embrace our dark side or raging bitch if you like, so we can write even better poems ~

  12. Good Poetry! So reminiscent of some of the most flavorful emotions of inner demons I have ever seen! Plath, Sexton... this poem is right up there! Keep doing this!

  13. Many thanks to all who commented. Written in first person, but actually is about someone dear to me fighting terminal illness, Words to this are metaphor for what she is going through. Wishing that "black bitch" (cancer) would disappear once and for all.
