Vote if you think that we deserve more
than a petulant President’s rantings and ravings;
than warmongers waging an undeclared war;
Vote if you think that our country’s worth saving.
Vote for the kids who were pulled from their parents.
Vote for the parents shot in their car.
Vote for the women who dared to speak out
bravely addressing just who the perps are.
Vote for the allies who watch from the sidelines
wondering if there is hope for us yet?
The soldiers and sailors lost in their limbo
deployed by sad leaders who choose to make threats
Vote for the underdog who’s beliefs may be different
yet who wants the same things that all of us want;
hungry for change in a world that needs changing,
it’s hard to do worse than what we have got.
Vote to get rid of the frauds and the cheaters
who pillage with flagrant impunity
Vote for the ones who stand up for justice
and help those with no opportunity
Seems once again, I preach to the choir
but seriously, who wants more of the same?
the country is burning the outlook is dire,
while the oligarchs keep on playing their game
So as we line up to make our choice choice
remember the power of our voice.
