The self-depreciating quip,
the bantering, the snide remark;
the cracking wise that’s said in jest,
the witticisms, light and dark…
the running joke, tomfoolery
the liveliness and levity
that carries through the drudgery.
But if perchance, you should believe
that I would write a single line
that gives a nod in your direction?
It’s not because your humor’s skewed.
Let’s put that notion straight to rest!
(Though that could be a part of it)
I’m just easily amused;
and if you’ve not yet realized this,
then you haven’t got a clue!
Subtle is as subtle does...
The irony of every action
a ‘silver lining’ of distraction.
So I’m dropping here for your review:
Tag, you’re ‘it!’ The “yolk’s” on you!
