shunning sheltered past
to howl freely at the moon
confidence instilled

Sometimes one has to step out of one's shell, throw back their head and literally "howl" at the moon, to change from who they are to who they want to be. Confidence gained through encouragement, and even a brotherly "dare!" Thanks my 'brother!!'
Sometimes one has to step out of the shell, lovely write. Thank you for your sweet comment. Your family will be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI like the use of the word "shunning" sheltered past instead of simply coming out or walking out of it, it's a true turn away in a stronger sense, to keep away from it and just be out there. Confidence comes after, but often seems desired before it though. Thoughtful haiku. :)

I like this metaphor for confidence...and today's the new moon--new beginnings!
ReplyDeleteLove it...yes there is that time of howling at the moon...believing in oneself again...
