Fading

"Beauty Fades" appetiteforphotos.blogspot.com Used with Permission.

Summer flowers fade and pass
sensing now their time's grown old;
as once they blossomed, so they wane
while trees turn orange, red and gold.

Oh, that these autumn days would last;
too soon they cycle gray and cold...
as frost etches our window pane
we watch the season's tale unfold.

  1. yep they move too fast to the cold and bitter....but in that quick moment carry so much beauty...

    dang if you were not right about the syrup...and maybe this is the first sign of senility thinking it was fall...oy...smiles.

  2. So true, Ginny, that seasons cycle way too fast....and especially autumn that seems to cycle to gray at breakneck speed! I enjoyed this!
