On This April Morning…

In the cool of early morning,
I step outside my door;
petrichor envelops me…
I breath deep the
fresh-washed air.
Eyes note yesterday’s
naked limbs now half-clothed
in new-leaf camouflage.
The grass stands attention
as sun filters through the
last lingering clouds,
calling reveille.

As the season cycles,
I too, am renewed.

  6. naked limbs now half-clothed

    and you know, I do like the nakedness of winter; how the light wafts in through my windows and brightens everything. But then I love the seclusion the "half-clothed" limbs start to bring back. I guess I just love the seasons. :)

  7. Lovely capture of a Spring morning - though it's late in the season here - we had that kind of day today after yesterday's storms. Well written, I really enjoyed this piece.

  8. ... and thanks for passing the new word along... hadn't heard of it before. There is nothing like the smell of rain and it's aftermath.

  11. We all are looking, at this time of the year, for that sense of renewal, that there are new possibilities, new worlds to discover. I'm so thankful when that feeling finally comes.
